Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
The short version: your routines live on your device and in your own iCloud account. We don't run servers for your app data, and we never see your routines.
1. Who we are
Golven is a calm, independent routine and organization app for iPhone. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the app and this website, and what rights you have. Questions: hello@golven.app.
2. Your routine data stays yours
Everything you create in Golven (routines, steps, schedules, and completion counts) is stored locally on your device. If you use iCloud, your data syncs via Apple's CloudKit into your private iCloud database, which only you can access. We don't operate servers that receive, store, or process your routine data, and we have no technical ability to read it.
3. What we do process
- Usage analytics (PostHog). We collect anonymized product-usage events (for example, "a routine was completed") to understand which features work and which don't. These events never include your routine names, step content, schedules, or any other personal content.
- Crash reports (Sentry). If the app crashes, we receive a technical crash report (device model, OS version, stack trace) so we can fix the bug. Crash reports don't include your routine content.
- Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat). Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status (for example, whether your subscription is active). We never see or store your payment details.
- Waitlist email (Buttondown). If you join the early-access list on this website, we store your email address with our email provider, Buttondown, and use it only to email you about early access. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address anytime.
4. Special category data (GDPR Article 9)
Because Golven is built for adults with ADHD, your routine data could be considered health-related data under GDPR. Our approach:
- Explicit consent. During onboarding, the app asks for your explicit consent to process routine data, with a clear explanation of why ("your routine data is used only to make the app work"). Consent is optional, but the app needs routine data to function.
- Withdraw anytime. You can withdraw consent in Settings.
- Delete everything, anytime. Settings includes a one-tap option to delete all your data, from the app and from your iCloud private database.
5. Data retention and deletion
Your routine data is kept until you delete it, item by item or all at once from Settings. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
6. Third-party processors
We rely on a small set of providers, each limited to its role: Apple (App Store billing, iCloud sync), RevenueCat (subscription status), PostHog (analytics), Sentry (crash reports), and Buttondown (waitlist email). Each processes data under its own privacy policy and applicable data-processing terms.
7. Children
Golven is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
9. Contact
